Silly Recent Quotes

Friendly:

"Mommy, I want to go to T Park...Den to Nana's and for a walk...Den to Da Store...And den to a playground...And den to Wegmans...And Den to da Park for Pretzels and Lemonade...And I wanna GO NOW."

Story of her life. The girl always wants to be doing some thing.

Sweet quote from Roo last week:

"Nana, I think I want to go home now. I am feeling a little shy. There are just too many people here and I want to go home. I just want to be home snuggled up comfy on my couch. Can we go home now? I feel shy." (said at a crowded playground after they had been there for quite some time)

Last night Pip was practicing doing push ups. I remarked to Ryan that she would be crawling before we know it. And then aside to the girls I said, "We are really going to have to start practicing for when Pip starts crawling. We need to keep our eyes looking for small pieces on the floor...We don't want Pip to choke. And we'll have to remember to keep the bathroom door closed when she starts to crawl  so she can't get into the toilet or the trash can."

Roo found this whole things very concerning and has been going around all day today closing doors and picking little stuff up, "Like this, Mommy?" At one point I was getting a snack together and I heard Roo talking to Pip on the floor "Now Pip, when you start crawling you don't go in the bafroom, okay? We don't want you eating toilet paper or playing in the yucky potty. And NEVER go in my room and choke on my tea party stuff! You stay out HERE, okay??"

I feel like there are a million funny little sayings that get lost in the chaos...Oh here is another one (from yesterday). Ryan and I have always been pretty careful with our language, "bad" words have never been a habit we have found ourselves in...Just not our style. So when we had kids it wasn't a stretch to learn to "watch our mouths". That said, my pet "bad" word is "freaking". I am of the mindset that if I do it, I shouldn't expect better from my kids: and that is across the board. We all have frustrations and ugly moments, no one handles things in the best way 100% of the time. My kids are gracious with me, and I work with them too. It's a process, ya know? They don't always do things the way I would like, but then I don't always handle things right either!

Anywhoo... Oh yes, the story (and sorry, I am really way-leading-up-to-this, it wasn't THAT funny). Roo was REALLY disappointed Sunday morning because she didn't have a dress to wear to church (only skirts). After letting her vent about it for a bit, I sent her to her room since she refused to drop the subject (and the situation couldn't be changed). When Riley went of to her room...Friendly thumped down in exasperation and let out a sigh of frustration, "Oh dat Woo is a FREAKING Stinker Pinker!!"

This age... Gotta Love it.
